Pining

Neutral Milk Hotel - Gardenhead/Leave Me Alone
Neutral Milk Hotel - Engine
Alright, let's break from the rack of rap raunch and break into the nutrient-rich yolk that is the one-that-can't-ever-be, Neutral Milk Hotel. These two mp3s are from Hype City Soundtrack. It's fairly bad quality considering they are derived from a cassette so just turn your speakers up and be content that the world actually got to listen to this. Haha Just kidding, I just want them to come back, man. Please. Just come back for some last show in Washington state or something. GODDAMMIT.

The Mountain Goats - Third Snow Song
The Mountain Goats - In Corolla
But to sate my macrocosmic longing, I bring you the one-that-is-still-burning, The Mountain Goats. Here are two songs 1.) from Protein Source of the Future...Now! and 2.) from the recent Get Lonely. Enjoy it and see you at their show on November 6th if you live in Tallahassee!

Baltifuckinmore Philafuckindelphia

Despite the incredible creativity of hip hop, its ability to throw up new styles, to morph and reinvent itself, it's not every day that something genuinely fresh drops in front of you. Welcome, then, to "YoYoYoYoYo", the debut album from Spank Rock. Drawing on the music of their hometown, Baltimore, Spank Rock make something genuinely unlike any record you've heard before. Of course there are antecedents, but at just under forty two minutes, Spank Rock have managed to reconfigure the musical landscape around them by being funny, catchy, clever, fearless and most of all, innovative. I don't write. Thanks, Amazon.

Hard-like

Jacki-O - Gangsta Bitch
Jacki-O with Ghostface Killah - Tooken Back

And when you told me your Merlot need more grapes
I said "Honey, you never had wine before!"

Make Lil Kim and Foxy Brown look like the Olsen Twins. You know, pre-New York Minute.
